Airport Construction

Asfaltar’s varied portfolio includes airport construction, an involvement which dates back over 15 years. Locally, the company constructed the apron at Malta International Airport (MIA) while also conducting maintenance works on its runway.

Current the company’s airport involvement includes the upgrading of the taxiways at MIA, which is being undertaken as a joint venture. Asfaltar has carried out the installation of storm water drains, electrical works, earthworks, resurfacing works and line markings. These practices have helped to ensure that Asfaltar is fully conversant with the ‘Air Side’ protocols associated with construction activities on live airports.
